Tips & Tricks
(Poker Style)
Beast Arena Tournament's "Poker style" game play very is similar to poker in many ways, initially there is an element of luck in which card you end up with but after that it's down to the skill of the player to influence the outcomes of each hand.
Here are a few tips on how to get the most out of your experience and hopefully thrash your opponents into a quivering submission
- If you have a good strong card try not to bet too big, it may scare people into stacking too soon without building up the pot. Try and slowly increase the amount.
- Play a few hands before bluffing, try to notice how people react to their cards, most people give it away how good their cards by their facial expressions. This game is more about playing people than their cards.
- Don't get into the habit of showing your cards after a game, if someone calls fight and turns over a card that will easily thrash yours then stack the card without letting anyone see, don't even bother using the game board if the outcome is obvious, this slows down game play and shows the other players that you don't know a Mongoose from a Grizzly bear.
- A ruler comes in very handy on the game board, it helps to find the right number a lot faster, and it also helps if you're not drunk.
- Many people use real money instead of the Arena Dollars, I can recommend this if you are over 18 but I will have to warn you that there is a lot more pressure than the normal game you may have to introduce some betting limits otherwise you could end up loosing your house.
- Big animals have a good chance of winning in this game; Elephant, killer whale, rhino, grizzly and great white shark are hard to beat but nothing is impossible with the right card.
- Feel free to taunt the other players, its no fun unless you're rubbing someone's face in it, counting other players money when you've won it is a good one to try or laughing out loud when they lose. It's only a game at the end of the day.
- STACK: Do this if your card is rubbish, be careful though because if you play the same way all the time, people will know you only bet on good cards and they wont bet against you when you do have something good.
- STICK: This is a good thing to try when your not sure how well your card will do against the others, It saves you from using too much money, warning it can also tell other players that your card is average.
- RAISE: If you have a good card you want to start raising the bets, this is best done slowly and in small amounts, if you raise the pot by too much people will stack or call a Fight before you have time to get every last dollar from them. Slowly, slowly catch a monkey.
- BLUFF: Bluffing is a technique used to take the pot without having a good card, it wont work every time but when it does its amazing, the idea is to play as if your card cant be beat, raising the pot will give the impression that your confident of victory, hopefully people will start to stack, It works best if your up against people with very little money left, placing a large bet will discourage them from calling a fight. If everyone stacks then you take the pot. I highly recommend shouting "IN YOUR FACE SUCKERS" while showing them your rubbish card. WARNING this will show people you're bluffing techniques and you may get your face pounded at the same time.
- FIGHT: This is done when you have a good card and you're pretty sure you going to win, before you call fight you want to squeeze every last dollar out of the other players. Keep an eye on how much money you have left because you have to double the last bet in order to fight. If you haven't got the money you can't call fight. The player who calls fight has to turn their card over first, the others then have the opportunity to beat you on the game board or place their card at the bottom of the pack without showing you.
- Please remember that Beast Arena is just a game where animal fights are based on speculation, No animals where injured, used or even patted to heavy during the making of this game.
